One Piece Showrunner comments on the choice of actor to play Luffy
One of the great successes of the live-action series One Piece was the casting of the Straw Hats.
In an interview with ComicBook, co-showrunner Steven Maeda commented on the importance of castingespecially for the role of Luffy (Iñaki Godoy).
“It was really difficult for Luffy in particular, the live-action Luffy could be quite annoying if he wasn’t cast correctly. And I think we found the nicest and most genuine guy to play this character. I’ve said this before and I insist, if Iñaki didn’t do this series… I don’t know. We didn’t have a backup for him that would excite us and be really good. So, as soon as we saw Iñaki, we prayed that we could get him to close this deal and make the series happen.” said Maeda.
The producer also added: “He’s really the glue that holds it all together. I think Taz, Emily, Mackenyu, Jacob and everyone else all rounded it out wonderfully and embodied these characters, it was a pleasure to watch them grow and inhabit these characters. But yeah , Iñaki is the glue that holds everything together.”
One Piece: The Series is available on Netflix. Season 1 adapts the Saga East Blue and has 8 episodes.

Vinland Saga Creator reveals what fans can expect from the finale
Recently, the creator of Vinland Saga, Makoto Yukimurawas in Canada was a guest at the Toronto International Authors Festival (TIFA) and at a Japan Foundation event.
In an interview with Anime Trending, in addition to revealing that he had to change the beginning of the story to obtain approval from the publisher and detail his historical research process, the mangaka commented on what readers can expect from the end.
“Actually, I don’t know what will happen at the end of this story! I believe that when the manga ends, everyone hopes for a happy ending, but there are historical facts. That’s the part difficult for me at the moment.
According to the story, the end of Thorfinn’s journey is tragic. Something truly tragic will happen to these characters. ‘How can I make this not a complete tragedy?’. This is something I’m working on now. What should I do?” said Yukimura.
The interviewer then suggested that he give the character a happy ending, after all, it is fiction. So, the author stated that he will do his best to move in that direction.
Vinland Saga is serialized in the monthly magazine Afternoon. The manga published in Japan by Kodansha since 2005 it has 27 volumes to date. In Brazil, the title was released by Panini.
