How Toji Changed Gojo And Geto Forever in Jujutsu Kaisen

Toji Fushiguro is one of the most essential characters in the whole Jujutsu Kaisen narrative, even appearing for just a short time. He is one of the most powerful jujutsu sorcerers and he has a profound impact on Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru.

How Toji Changed Gojo And Geto Forever in Jujutsu Kaisen

Toji is the first person who ever wins a fight against Gojo. He does this by exploiting Gojo’s one weakness: his cursed technique, Infinity. Toji’s cursed tool is special because it nullifies the Infinity Gojo possesses, enabling Toji to touch and hurt Gojo.

This defeat marks a turning point in Gojo’s life. He comprehends that he is not invulnerable and must continue to practice and improve to shield the individuals dear to him. After the defeat, Gojo also grows to be humble and compassionate. He knows he has power and that he has to use it to help other people not only himself.

Geto is also very much influenced by Toji. At first, Geto is fascinated by Toji’s strength and starts to question the usefulness of the jujutsu system. He witnesses Toji, a non-jujutsu sorcerer, overpowering even the mightiest jujutsu sorcerers. Geto then thinks that the jujutsu is rotten; and that it should be reformed.

Upon Toji’s death, Geto loses faith in the jujutsu world. He thinks that the system is incurable and that real equality can only be realized by eliminating all none jujutsu sorcerers. That turns Geto into a terrorist, who starts killing non-jujutsu sorcerers in order to accomplish this.

Toji Fushiguro is a tragic but an important one. He is a sign that the strong have weaknesses and that nobody is impregnable. He is also a case in point to the extremism.

My thoughts

I find the impact of Toji on Gojo and Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen one of the most striking. It tells of how one person can drastically change another’s life unintentionally. It also portrays how our decisions can determine our fate.
