Hideo Kojima praises PLUTO adaptation
Director behind Metal Gear Solid e Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima watched the anime PLUTO adaptation and decided to share his opinion on X.
“I just watched the latest episode of PLUTO. It’s wonderful! This is the soul of Tezuka sensei! Naoki Urasawa’s prayer to continue his legacy! Mr. Maruyama’s love for the production! The cast’s passionate performances! Everything came to fruition! It’s not just a fighting robot anime or hero anime. This is manga and Japanese animation.”
This is a collaboration between Studio Genco, Tezuka Productions e Studio M2. There are eight episodes in total, each lasting approximately 1 hour.
PLUTO is available on Netflix.
The original work is a creation of Naoki Urasawa e Osamu Tezuka.
In an ideal world, where man and robots coexist, someone or something destroyed the powerful Swiss robot Mont Blanc. Elsewhere, a key figure in a robot rights group is murdered. The two incidents appear to be unrelated… except for one very visible clue: the bodies of both victims were molded into a sort of bizarre collage complete with makeshift horns placed over the victims’ heads.
Interpol assigns Detective Gesicht to this strange and complex case, where he ends up discovering that he too, as one of the seven great robots in the world, is one of the targets.
