What is How Do You Live about?

How Do You Live? will be the last film from iconic director Hayao Miyazaki (My Friend Totoro, Spirited Away). The most curious thing is that practically no promotional material was released, that is, there are no images, trailers, or anything like that. The only thing we have is a poster, and the information that How Do You Live? will be inspired by a popular novel of the same name, released in 1937.

The plot of the original story follows 15-year-old Junichi Honda after the death of his father. He goes to live with his uncle, who lives a very different lifestyle. In this way, the novel deals with themes such as perspective on life, as well as exploring the ways in which we try to fit into a pre-established structure of society.
