MF Ghost is written and illustrated by Shuuichi Shigenothe same author of the original manga, Initial D. The sequel is published in Japan by Kodansha and serialized in the weekly magazine Young Magazine since September 2017, with 17 volumes to date.
The classic manga was originally published between 1995 and 2013, with 48 volumes in total, and received its first anime adaptation in 1998.
The title has suffered from recurring hiatuses due to Shigeno’s health problems. However, the work’s serialization resumed in June of that year, beginning the “final battle”.
The author declared that he had already completed four-fifths of the story, but was unsure whether he would be able to draw the last part.
