The first part of the drama "Farewell Hospital 2" based on the original work by Okita and Hana will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10pm on April 4th, and the second part on April 11th from 10pm. Additional cast members include Shiro Ito, Eri Watanabe, YOU, Yuriko Hirooka, Sawako Agawa, and Akira Emoto.
"Farewell Hospital 2" is a sequel to the drama "Farewell Hospital" that aired from February 2024. The film depicts nurse Ayumu Hemi, played by Yuki Kishii, and doctor Seiji Hirono, played by Kenichi Matsuyama, as they stand by the people around them, including patients in their final moments and their families.
Ito plays Masasuke Anzai, who suffers from somnolence and partial dementia. Watanabe will play the role of Mie Hayashi, an acquaintance of Anzai. YOU plays the role of Mimi Sakurada, a bestselling author who is suffering from terminal pancreatic cancer, and Hirooka plays the role of Shinobu Akiyama, an editor who worked together with Sakurada to create bestsellers. Agawa developed interstitial pneumonia eight years ago, and Akira Emoto will play the role of Chiyoko Kadokawa, who wishes to receive palliative care at the end of her life, and Saburo Kadokawa, her husband who cannot accept Chiyoko's condition.
