This is the first initiative of KADOKAWA's new initiative, ``Create creators. Create creators.'' The company will fundamentally strengthen its production system in the animation and live-action fields. In recent years, Japan's anime industry has continued to expand both domestically and internationally, with the number of productions increasing and projects becoming larger in scale. However, production sites have been faced with issues such as a lack of creators and the complexity of work. As the industry as a whole is required to establish a sustainable production system, KADOKAWA established a new Studio Business Department in April 2025 to oversee all animation and live-action production studios. We have been working to improve the working environment and strengthen our human resources recruitment and training system, including consolidating back office functions, improving employee benefits, and joint recruitment across studios.
Studio One Base physically consolidates multiple anime production studios in a space of approximately 1,400 tsubo. This will accelerate KADOKAWA's efforts to date, speed up information sharing and collaboration, create an environment where creators can concentrate on production, strengthen know-how collaboration between studios, and foster young talent. Additionally, with the opening of this base, KADOKAWA, Toshima Ward, and Sunshine City will strengthen their collaboration. We aim to develop Ikebukuro into a ``world-class anime city'' by adding the role of creating, nurturing, and disseminating the anime industry to Ikebukuro, where you can enjoy viewing works and experiencing various things.
