The urban book ``The Man in the Box'' was released today, March 5th, by Hakusensha and Kodomoe COMICS.
The story of ``The Man in the Box'' begins with the discovery of the corpse of a man in a box in a room of a house. From there, time goes back to when the girl, Yumiko, was 5 years old. Yumiko was asked to draw a picture of her family in kindergarten, and what she drew was a picture of her father reaching out from a box with a small hole in it. Yumiko's father had been in a box ever since she could remember, but that was normal for Yumiko. However, as she grows up, Yumiko begins to feel creepy about her father, who never comes out of his box and never shows his face.
Hiroyuki contributed a recommendation to ``The Man in the Box'' for its publication as a book. He commented, ``After reading it, I felt like I was reading a mystery movie, where the foreshadowing of the unnaturalness of a family where a man lives only in a box is clearly revealed.''
