New Cast Revealed for The Next Duke Anime: Kaito Ishikawa and Chika Anzai Join the Team
There is some really exciting news coming in for the fans of historical romance! Recently, the team behind the upcoming television anime The next duke who said, "I have no intention of loving you," has come to dote on you for some reason has officially announced additional cast members. This series, which is based on the original light novels by Kei Misawa and Natsu Mizuno, is already generating a lot of buzz. It has been confirmed that Kaito Ishikawa will be taking on the role of Jarmo Parnilla, while Chika Anzai is set to voice Serafina Parnilla.
The announcement happened during a special stage event at AnimeJapan 2026, held at the Tokyo Big Sight. Fans were treated to a look at the new characters who will be joining the main leads, Elsa and Julius. From what we hear, the story is a beautiful blend of drama and romance, following Elsa, the daughter of a fallen aristocrat who remains positive despite her tough life. She ends up in a contract marriage with the elite but socially clumsy Julius, and we get to see why the next duke who said I have no intention of loving you is a must watch anime as their relationship slowly turns into genuine love.
Introducing the Parnilla Siblings: Rivals and Schemers

- Jarmo Parnilla: Voiced by Kaito Ishikawa, he is Julius' old rival from the Royal School. He is quite suspicious of the "happy couple" act that Elsa and Julius put on in public and is already hatching schemes to uncover the truth.

The stage event featured the main stars, Yui Ishikawa (Elsa) and Soma Saito (Julius), who shared their thoughts on their characters. Yui Ishikawa mentioned how Elsa is a very kind girl who grew up in a warm family and has a very strong heart. She’s the kind of person you just want to support with all your heart. On the other hand, Soma Saito analyzed Julius as someone who might seem cold-hearted and too smart for his own good, but he has a very human charm that starts to show once he meets Elsa.
Saito also told the audience to look forward to the side characters, saying they add a "nice flavor" to the main plot. Yui Ishikawa added that the entire cast is just wonderful and it's the best feeling to work with them. The TV anime is scheduled to start its broadcast in July on the TV Asahi network and BS Asahi. He expressed his excitement for the premiere, and we honestly can't wait either!
