The Inspiration Behind Spinnerbait
Konomoto Watsuya's ``Spinnerbait'' has been made into a TV drama. The drama, starring Seishiro Kato, will be broadcast on Fuji TV starting June.

"Spinnerbait" is a youth crime suspense story that begins when the main character, high school student Kota Mitsui, joins a blackmailing vigilante group called "Spinnerbait" thinking it is a fishing club. Kota Mitsui, who was at the bottom of the pecking order in Spinnerbait, where there is a rule that ``forcefully crack down on crimes and determine the pecking order of absolute obedience based on the points you earn,''' becomes involved in a series of murders that shakes the town.
The Cast and Crew
In the drama, Kato will play the role of Kota Mitsui, an ordinary high school boy who is tired of his boring high school life. In addition, Mamoru Hagiwara will play the role of Shinjiro Uchi, a serious and timid high school student who is used by Pasiri, So Okuno will play Daiki Terayama, the leader of Spinnerbait who idolizes the former Yakuza Kamegai, and Kan Takahashi will play Tsuyoshi Tamashiro, the number two of Spinnerbait. Asahi Ito plays the role of Takahiro Kiyono, an eccentric who joined Spinnerbait to relieve stress, Momoko plays Ren Hibara, a first-year member of Spinnerbait who takes advantage of his senior Yanai Mitsui, and Yoto Yoshizawa plays Yasuto Takahashi, who is a different person even among Spinnerbait (The reason is his own).
