Analysis: 10 Finalists for the 30th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award Revealed
The prestigious 30th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award, which is proudly sponsored by Asahi Shimbun, has finally announced its top 10 finalists for the Manga Award. The selection was heavily influenced by recommendations from the general public, which were collected between November 2025 and January 2026. Additionally, an external selection committee played a major role in picking the top contenders. Interestingly, Sei Kojima's work, "If it's a book, it's enough to sell" (also known as Books Sell), actually managed to rank number one in the general public vote. Upcoming Announcements and Selection Committee
We won't have to wait too long for the final results. The Manga Award winner will be officially announced in late April through the Asahi Shimbun morning edition and their digital platforms. The official presentation ceremony is set to take place on June 11th at the Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo.
