The 10 finalists for the Manga Award were announced at the 30th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award, sponsored by Asahi Shimbun.

Nominated are Yoko Kondo's ``Kitan Iemori'' based on the original work by Kaho Nashiki, Inuhiko Doronota's ``To walk in space with you'', Minoru Toyota's ``Draw this and die'', Akira Yamaguchi's ``Shuto'', and Takaka's ``Gap''. "Solaris" by Stanisław Lem's original work, Gakuto Moriizumi "Solaris", Yoko Fujimi "Half Sister and Brother", Qita Minami "Ball and Chain", Sei Kojima "Books Sell", Hisaichi Ishii "ROCA" Complete”. Commercial manga published in 2025 were eligible, and the selection was based on the first-place works recommended by the general public between November 2025 and January 2026, as well as the top works recommended by an external selection committee. In addition, ``If it's a book, it's enough to sell'' was ranked number one in the general vote.
The Manga Award will be announced by the final selection committee in the Asahi Shimbun morning edition, Asahi Shimbun digital edition, etc. in late April, along with the New Life Award, Short Story Award, and Special Award. The presentation ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 11th at Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo. The selection committee will include Osamu Akimoto, Machiko Satonaka, entertainer Minami Takahashi, French literary scholar and professor emeritus of Gakushuin University Shohei Nakajo, manga researcher Yukiko Tomiyama, manga commentator Nobunaga Minami, comedian and manga artist Taro Yabe, Asahi Shimbun director and editor Kengo Sakajiri, and Asahi Shimbun culture director Kaoru Watanabe.
