The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
A special screening of Tatsuya Suzuki, an up-and-coming animation film director known for 'A Nameless Life,' will be held from July 10th to 16th at 109 Cinemas Tomiya in his hometown of Miyagi Prefecture.

Director Suzuki's Background
Director Suzuki began making short animations on his own during the coronavirus pandemic, and his theatrical feature debut, 'Anonymous Life,' which will be released in 2025, has been nominated for the Contrechamps category at the Annecy International Film Festival. He is from Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, and wrote 'Anonymous Life' by himself in his parents' house in Sendai.
In addition to 'Anonymous Life' and the short story collection 'Three Men,' the special screening in Miyagi will include Bong Joon-ho's 'Memories of Murder', Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Drive,' and Toru Murakawa's 'The Beast Must Die,' which are works that influenced Suzuki. In addition to handing out newly drawn stickers to all attendees, there will also be an exhibition of director Suzuki's illustrations and sale of drinks from the 'Anonymous Life' package.
Talk and Autograph Session
In conjunction with the screening of the director's work, a talk and autograph session will be held on July 11th at 2:30pm, a talk at 6:10pm, and a talk and autograph session on July 12th at 11:45pm. Screenings with director Suzuki on stage will also be held at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku in Tokyo on July 18th and at Mobil in Kanagawa on the 25th. Please check each theater's website for details.
