The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Celebrates 20 Years of Anime Magic
Today is a very special day for anime fans because on April 3rd, the legendary TV anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya officially celebrated its 20th anniversary since it first hit the screens. It is really hard to believe how time flies, no? To mark this massive milestone, the creators have released a bunch of cool stuff including a brand-new visual drawn by Noiji Ito, who is the original illustrator for the novels. Along with this, we have a nostalgic 20th anniversary PV and even a congratulatory video message from the original SOS Dan voice cast members.
This new visual by Ito Noiji is specially made to celebrate the 20 years of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and it looks absolutely stunning. Since November last year, the franchise has been running the Suzumiya Haruhi no Thanku Project to show gratitude to the fans. In this latest visual, you can see all our favourite characters together: Haruhi Suzumiya, Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, Itsuki Koizumi (Kazuki Koizumi), Ryoko Asakura, and Tsuruya-san. It really brings back so many memories of the SOS Brigade antics.
Nostalgic PV and Cast Messages
The 20th anniversary PV is about 3 minutes long and it is basically a trip down memory lane. It features some of the most famous scenes and lines from the series, all set to the iconic theme songs Bouken Desho Desho? and Hare Hare Yukai. Honestly, just hearing those songs again gives me goosebumps! But the best part has to be the message video where the five main voice actors came together to wish the series well. We have:

The celebrations are not just stopping with videos. It has been officially decided that a special exhibition for the anime series will be held in Tokyo this August.
