Super Kaguyahime! Movie Expands to 100+ Theaters Across Japan

The original anime film Super Kaguyahime! has truly taken the Japanese box office by storm lately. After a very successful initial run, it has been officially announced that the movie will now be screened in over 100 theaters nationwide starting from March 13th. This is quite a big jump from its original release scale, and it clearly shows how much the audience is loving this fresh take on the classic folktale. To celebrate this massive expansion, the production team has arranged for a special treat for the fans who go to watch it in the cinema.

The first 300,000 visitors will be lucky enough to receive an A5-sized Memorial Visual illustration board. This actually marks the second special benefit for visitors, and the distribution is also set to begin on the very same day the theater count increases. If you are a fan of high-quality collectibles, this is definitely something you wouldn't want to miss out on.

Impressive Box Office Performance and Momentum

When Super Kaguyahime! first hit the screens on February 20th, it was only being shown in 19 theaters across the country. Despite such a limited release, it managed to get off to an exceptionally good start, even ranking fifth in the weekend audience attendance charts. Because the response from the public was so great, the makers decided to scrap the original one-week limited screening schedule. Instead, they added eight more theaters immediately to keep up with the demand. This movie is quickly becoming a must-watch, and for those who are still confused about the plot, everything you need to know about Super Kaguyahime is available to help you understand this unique reimagining.

The Memorial Visual board is specially drawn by the Tsukuyomi character designer, Hechima. It is a very sweet piece of art that features Kaguya and Yachiyo laughing together while Ayaba is seen playing the piano in the background. It captures the emotional core of the film perfectly.

New Music Video Release: "Reply" by Kaguya

In another exciting update, the music video for Kaguya's featured song, Reply, has finally been released to the public. The track is performed by the talented Yuko Natsuyoshi, who voices Kaguya in the film. The credits for the song are also quite impressive:

  • Lyrics: Written by Erika Masaki
  • Composition/Arrangement: Handled by kz (livetune)
  • Vocals: Yuko Natsuyoshi

The video itself is crafted in a way that it vividly brings back the deep emotions of the main story. It basically offers a condensed look at the summer memories shared between Kaguya and Aya. For fans, it’s a beautiful way to relive the movie's best moments. If you want a deeper dive into the lore of the series, everything you need to know about Super Kaguyahime will give you the full context regarding the virtual world of Tsukuyomi.
