Hayato and Haruki Reunite in the First Main PV of Tenbin Anime
The first main promotional video (PV) for the upcoming TV anime, The Neat and Pretty Beautiful Girl I Transferred to was a Childhood Friend I Used to Play with, Thinking It Was a Boy, has finally been released. For fans who have been waiting for a glimpse of the animation, this is quite a big moment. Along with the teaser, it has also been confirmed that the opening theme song will be "Natsu ni Muite" performed by the popular group DIALOGUE+. This announcement has really added to the hype surrounding the series.

Plot Overview and Character Dynamics
Scheduled to air in July, this youth romantic comedy is often abbreviated as Tenbin. The story centers on Hayato, a boy who moves from a quiet rural high school to a bustling high school in the city. The core of the narrative is his reunion with his childhood friend, Haruki, for the first time in seven years. The twist? Hayato always remembered Haruki as a boy he used to play with, but upon meeting again, he is shocked to find out that she is actually a very beautiful and neat girl. This unique premise is one of the reasons why you need to read the manga and watch the anime now before the premiere.
The first main PV beautifully captures the essence of their relationship. It starts with a nostalgic scene showing young Hayato and Haruki making a promise to stay friends forever. Fast forward to the present day, we see Hayato adjusting to city life and meeting several key characters, including:
- Haruki: The female lead and Hayato's long-lost friend.
- Himeko: Hayato’s younger sister.
- Minamo: Hayato’s new classmate in the city.

Musical Insights and Production Comments
The PV also gives us a small taste of the opening theme, "Natsu ni Mudare". Tomoya Tabuchi from UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, who is the general producer for DIALOGUE+, shared some interesting thoughts on the track. He mentioned that he wanted to use sound and melody to paint a picture of an "endlessly clear blue sky" and "flower fields blooming beneath it." He also tried to pack in as much "sense of speed" as possible to match the dramatic and youthful energy of the show.
Honestly, the visuals look quite promising and the voice acting seems to fit the characters perfectly. If you are a fan of rom-coms with a bit of a childhood-friend-trope twist, then Tenbin is definitely something you should keep an eye on this July.
