Analysis: Jadougaru of the Tent Cast and First PV Revealed
The world of anime is finally getting a proper look at Jadogaru of the Tent, a highly anticipated series based on the original work by Tomato Soup. It’s been officially announced that Akiyoshi Sekine, Noriko Kuwashima, Jun Saito, Ryota Suzuki, and Miyu Irino will be the main voice cast bringing these characters to life. Along with this big cast reveal, the production team has also treated fans to the first promotional video (PV) and some stunning "Character Art" that showcases the unique visual style of the series.

Scheduled to broadcast starting this July, the anime will be featured on TV Asahi's nationwide network under the "IMAnimation" slot, as well as on BS Asahi. This story is a sweeping historical drama set deep within the 13th-century Mongol Empire. It follows the life of Sitara, a young girl who has lost everything but chooses to use her intelligence and wisdom as her only weapons to survive in a world filled with harsh destinies and political upheaval. Many fans are already discussing why Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is the historical fantasy epic you simply cannot afford to miss this year.
Creative Powerhouses Behind the Scenes
The staff list for this project is honestly quite impressive. The general director is none other than Naoko Yamada, whose work on The Tale of the Heike and A Silent Voice has been world-class. Joining her is director Abel Gongora and character designer Kenichi Yoshida, who also serves as the animation chief. The production is being handled by Science SARU, a studio known for its experimental and high-quality animation, so we can definitely expect something very special visually.
Deep Dive into the Cast and Characters
The voice actors chosen for these roles seem to fit the character profiles perfectly. Here is a look at who is playing who:
- Akiyoshi Sekine plays the protagonist, Sitara, a girl who becomes lonely after losing her mother and hometown.
- Noriko Kuwashima voices Fatima, the kind woman who takes Sitara in and treats her like a daughter.
- Jun Saito makes his TV anime debut as Muhammad, Fatima’s highly intelligent young boy.
- Ryota Suzuki takes on the role of Tolui, the fourth son of the legendary Genghis Khan.
- Miyu Irino plays Shira, a boy living as a prisoner within the Mongol Empire's borders.
Actor Jun Saito, who many might recognize from his role in the Karaoke Let's Go! movie, is particularly excited about his first ever TV anime appearance. The first PV does a great job showing Sitara’s growth from a hopeless, lonely girl into someone who finds strength through "knowledge" and scholars. However, her life takes a sharp turn when the empire begins its invasion, forcing her to adapt or perish.

Global Recognition at Annecy 2026
Even before its full release, the series is already making waves internationally. This prestigious event will take place in southeastern France from June 21st to June 27th, 2026. This selection really highlights why Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is the historical fantasy epic that critics and fans are watching so closely.
