'Zen and Ghibli' is an experiential exhibition that uses the book 'Zen and Ghibli' by producer Toshio Suzuki as its starting point, allowing you to experience the 'Zen-like perspective' through Ghibli works. The exhibition area was structured around the worldview of Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, 'How Do You Live?' As if guided by a gray heron, visitors step into another world and into the creative space of Studio Ghibli. Inside the venue, in addition to three-dimensional objects reminiscent of famous scenes from Ghibli films, there will also be Zen paintings and calligraphy handwritten by producer Suzuki. You can feel the Zen-like way of looking at things that runs through all of Ghibli's works.
The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
Ishida appeared as San in 'Princess Mononoke', Kiyo in 'Heisei Tanuki Gassen Pon Poko', and Miki Hokuto in 'From Up on Poppy Hill'. Regarding the exhibition, she said, 'Zen and Ghibli. What fascinating words. I intend to travel through the world of Zen with an open mind.' A video featuring Ishida was also released on the official YouTube channel. The video shows the zazen experience with producer Suzuki. Also included are valuable talks about what the two think of as their ideal way of life and behind-the-scenes stories about Miyazaki.
