A world where monsters that appear through “gates” and hunters who fight using their skills are constantly in conflict. The main character, Reigo Kurosato, is hated as the "Reigo of Calamity" due to his unlucky constitution, and is unable to participate in any raids. Out of necessity, he decides to collect the belongings of a deceased hunter, which is considered the lowest job in this world. However, as a result of this work, he awakens to a certain power.
