The 13th New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival will be held at the New Chitose Airport Terminal Building in Hokkaido from November 20th to 24th.

The "New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival" started in 2014 with the theme of "a film festival that can only be done at an airport, broadcasting throughout the airport." The 12th edition, to be held in 2025, attracted a total of over 30,000 people over the five-day period. Applications for the competition section, the mainstay of the film festival, will begin on April 20th. In the competition category, we have newly established the ``NEW CHITOSE Digital Signage Category'', which is a reorganization of the airing slots for the airport digital signage, which was previously implemented as the ``NEW CHITOSE 30 Seconds Category''. We are looking for 15 or 30 second animation works, including loop works.
In addition, the digital signage department will be implementing a collaborative program with the Sapporo International Art Festival 2027, which will be held from January 16th to February 21st, 2027. The winning works in this category will be screened as part of an outdoor projection program at the Sapporo City Museum in the evening during the Sapporo International Art Festival 2027.
