The new series ``Tonight, in the Secret Kitchen'' by Akiyo Kurosawa of ``Nibun no Ichi Couple'' will start on March 20th on Magazine House's website SHURO. It was also announced that the same work will be made into a drama on Fuji TV in April, with Haruka Kinami and Mahiro Takasugi appearing in the drama.
Ayumi, the heroine of "Tonight in the Secret Kitchen," used to be an announcer for a local station, but she married the president of a sponsoring company and became a full-time housewife. However, she had problems such as moral harassment from her husband, lack of sex, and excessive interference from her mother-in-law. Ayumi gradually becomes addicted to alcohol due to exhaustion, but little by little she regains her true self through the gentle flavors of the dishes prepared by Kei, a younger Italian chef.
In the drama, Kinami will play the role of Ayumi, and Takasugi will play the role of Kei. A visual for the drama featuring the two was also released. Although the manga and drama share the story of Kei's cooking saving Ayumi, the dishes that appear in the story and the heroine's background are different.
