The Main Visual Revealed
The main visual for the movie Chiikawa The Secret of Mermaid Island, an animated movie based on Nagano's original work, has been released.
All characters appear in the main visual. A Chikawa holding something like red scales in his hand, a Hachiware with a sharp look on his face, a rabbit holding the weapon ``Binyoyo'' given to him on the island, a sea otter looking back with his cloak flowing, a flying squirrel playing in the waves at his own pace, a used bookstore, a chestnut bun, and a shisa dog. You can also see Sirens and mermaids, who are important characters in this work, Jiro Shima wearing an apron with the words ``Ajimanji'' written on it, arms crossed, and the islanders Hitoha and Futaba holding hands.
Production and Release
In ``Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island,'' one of the original's longest episodes, commonly known as the ``Siren Edition,'' is filmed under the full supervision of the original author, Nagano. The film will be produced by Cypic and directed by Kei Oikawa. Haruka Aoki, Masato Tanaka, and Ari Ozawa will play the roles of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, respectively, just like in the TV anime. It will be released on July 24th.
