A Look Back and New Movie Reveals
Fans have been following this journey since the first season of the TV anime aired in 2022, followed by a second season in 2023. Now, the big news is the jump to theatrical animation. During the event, the six members of the "Seven Shadows" who support our main hero had a bit of fun reviewing the past seasons. They even had a "presentation showdown" titled "We want to support the powerful people in the shadows!" using their iconic character voices. Each actress highlighted the unique traits of her character and how they assist their master. After much applause from the audience, Yamashita judged Beta as the winner of the contest.
Moving into the second half of the program, some big collaborations were announced. There is going to be a crossover between the games "I Want to Become a Powerful Person Behind the Scenes! Master of Garden" and "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?". A collaboration visual was also shown to the crowd, and more details will be out during a live broadcast on April 9th. This kind of crossover really shows the eminence in shadow: why this isekai masterpiece is a must watch for anime and manga fans as it continues to expand its reach.
Cast Additions for the Zankyo Edition
The highlights didn't end there. A second special report for "The Movie: I Want to Become a Powerful Person Behind the Scenes! Zankyo Edition" was screened for the audience. The video had a very serious vibe, and the fans responded with a massive round of applause. Interestingly, this "Reverberation Edition" is set in the "Japan" where Sid lived before he was reincarnated. It was confirmed that Akane Nishino, voiced by Yui Horie, will be coming back. Also, Yukari Tamura will join the cast as a physician named Yuka Asakura. Seeing names like Horie and Tamura together in the credits definitely got the cast and the fans very excited.
Message from the Creators and Future Plans
Director Kazuya Nakanishi and the original author Daisuke Aizawa also sent in their comments for the stage performance. Yamashita read the director's thoughts on his behalf, while Aizawa praised how the movie version is turning out. To wrap things up, Yamashita gave a heartfelt speech. He talked about how the recording for the theatrical version is already done and thanked his fellow "Shichiin" cast members for their support throughout the project.
For those who might be new, the story follows a boy who dies and is reincarnated as Cid Kagenou. He lives a double life, pretending to be a background student while actually leading a secret organization called Shadow Garden. It's a mix of chuunibyou tropes and serious comedy that makes many realize the eminence in shadow: why this isekai masterpiece is a must watch for anime and manga fans around the world. The movie is officially scheduled for a 2027 release.
