The Story of Haru and Rio: A Unique Bond in a Share House
The core of "Share" is a beautifully woven love story that explores the special relationship between two very different individuals. Haru Kusaka is a high school girl who feels a bit lost, living her life without any specific dreams or big aspirations. Her world changes when she encounters Rio Fujiwara, a young gay man who happens to be a customer at her part-time job. For reasons she cannot quite explain, Haru finds herself deeply curious about Rio. This curiosity eventually leads her to the share house where he resides, where she boldly declares her wish to live there as well.
Rio agrees to the arrangement, but he sets one very important condition: "Please don't fall in love with me as a man." It is a complicated setup, especially since Haru's feelings for Rio continue to grow with every passing day. She finds herself in a position where she must hide her true emotions just to remain by his side. It is precisely these emotional layers that explain why Share is such a compelling read and now, hopefully, a great watch. Shiori Akita will be bringing the character of Haru to life, while Masashi Ikeda takes on the challenging role of Rio.

Creative Team and Musical Direction
The production is in very capable hands, with Ayaka Kato serving as both the screenwriter and director. Kato is well-known for her impressive work on successful dramas like "Old Fashioned Cupcake" and "Taiken Forecast," so expectations are quite high for this adaptation. Adding to the atmosphere of the show is the theme song, "BLUE," which is the major debut track from the band Indigo.
A producer from NBCUniversal Entertainment shared a very personal reason for choosing this specific song. They recalled attending an Indigo concert in the early 2000s when they first started working. The song "BLUE" gave them a sense of growing up while still being an innocent newcomer to society. This "adult scent" is something they feel Rio and the other share house members provide for Haru. The drama aims to capture that feeling of a "continuation of childhood dreams" as we follow Haru's journey into adulthood. With such a strong team, it's clear why Share has become such a highly anticipated project for the spring season.
