Togen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Edition Set to Premiere with New Cast Members
There is some really big news for the fans of dark fantasy anime. It has been officially announced that the much-awaited sequel to the TV anime Togen Anki, which is based on the original work by Yuki Urushibara, is finally coming. This new chapter, titled Nikko Kegon Falls Hen, will be broadcast on Nippon Television's famous FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT slot starting this October. It is quite a relief for those who were waiting for the next part of the story after the previous arcs ended. Along with the release window, the makers also revealed that Nobuhiko Okamoto will be joining the team to play the role of Hagure Nekosaki, a part-time lecturer at Rasetsu Academy. Also, Kento Ito has been cast to play the role of Yu Innami.
This fresh update was shared today, March 29th, during the AnimeJapan 2026 event, which is currently happening at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. Talking about the new characters, Nekosaki is said to have a very polite personality on the surface, but nobody actually knows the truth behind his character yet. On the other hand, Inami is someone who is always coughing and even vomiting blood, but despite her condition, she is shown as a very positive and passionate character. Both of them will be participating in the students' new training session at the special request of Mudano. It will be interesting to see how these new faces change the dynamic of the Togen Anki story.

For those who might need a quick refresher, Togen Anki is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion by Akita Shoten. It is often described as a new generation dark hero demon story that takes inspiration from the classic legend of Momotaro. The anime adaptation has been moving quite fast, with the Kyoto edition having aired back in July 2025, followed by the Nerima edition which started in October of that same year.
