New Teasers and Footage Released for the Upcoming Tensura Film

The buzz around the anime world is quite high right now because two main clips from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea have finally been released. Fans have been waiting for a long time to see more of Rimuru's big-screen adventure, and these clips definitely give us a good look at what’s coming. It’s clear that the production team has put in a lot of heart into this project.

From That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea, the first video titled "Looking back at the past Tensura with Rimuru" serves as a digest. It is actually played at the very beginning of the main movie to help everyone catch up. The video traces the journey of Rimuru Tempest from the moment he turned into a slime to the creation of the Jura Tempest Federation. It’s very easy to follow, making it perfect for new fans who might not have seen everything yet. For many, seeing this recap reminds them why That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a must watch fantasy epic in the first place.

Highlights: Gobta's Date and Rimuru's Progress

The second clip, "Gobta and Yura: Eventful Date," is a bit more light-hearted but still quite exciting. It shows Gobta and Yura eating some local specialty food together while they are literally running away from people chasing them. It's a classic Tensura mix of comedy and action. We also get a few glimpses of Elmesia and her companions enjoying their vacation time, though some of those scenes were cut for the teaser.

Plot and Reception

The movie itself tells a fresh story where Rimuru and his friends encounter Yura, a shrine maiden from Kaien. This country is hidden at the bottom of the sea, and our heroes must fight hard to save it from destruction. Since it hit theatres on February 27th, more than 500,000 people have already gone to see it! To make things even better, it’s going to be screened in 4DX starting March 20th, which should be a real treat for the senses.

Natalie is currently running a massive special feature on the film across three categories: comics, movies, and music. As part of this, Akapen Takigawa actually visited Studio 8bit to see how the anime is made. He got a proper look at the hard work and clever ideas the staff uses to make the animation look so powerful. If you are a fan, you’d know that why That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a must watch fantasy epic is largely due to this high-quality production and engaging world-building.
