4K Screening: “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” theaters announced

It has been decided that the theatrical animation ``The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'' directed by Mamoru Hosoda will be revived in 4K from July 3rd. It has been decided that the film will be screened in 147 theaters nationwide, and the number of theaters will continue to increase.

"The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" is based on the original work by Yasutaka Tsutsui, and is a story depicting the youth and growth of Makoto Konno, a high school girl who has acquired the ability to "time leap" to the past. When it was released in July 2006, screenings started at just six theaters, but spread by word of mouth, eventually reaching over 100 theaters in total. The film set records, running for about 40 weeks and winning numerous film awards, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
