The anime "BEAT & MOTION" based on the original work by Naoki Fujita will be distributed exclusively on Netflix in 2027. The teaser visual, first PV, and cast information have been released. The animation production for the film will be handled by MAPPA.
"BEAT & MOTION" is a youth graffiti story in which Tatsuhiko Hirayama, a young man who gave up on his dream of becoming an animator, and Nico Kashiwagi, an indie musician who believes in his dream, meet and clash, but unleash each other's talents. The original work was selected as the grand prize winner of the "MILLION TAG" audition for new manga artists sponsored by Shueisha, and was serialized in Shonen Jump + from February 2023 to January 2025.

The teaser visual depicts Nico smiling with a guitar behind him, and Tatsuhiko with a panicked expression on his face. The first PV shows the two of them working together to create their work.

The role of Tatsuhiko, who meets Nico and aims to become an anime film director, will be played by Shuichiro Umeda. The role of Nico, who asks Tatsuhiko to produce an animation for the music video, will be played by Tsuruya Gomatsuru. Umeda said, "For those of you who are trying to express something right now. For those of you who are wondering whether to take on a challenge. For those of you who are fighting. For those of you who have given up. I hope this work reaches you." Gomatsuru expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This time, I want to work with her to encourage the viewers. I want to pour my heart and soul into playing Nico and cherish it!"

Yuji Kaku, who also served as a judge on "MILLION TAG," posted a newly drawn illustration and the comment, "This work has the creator's true feelings exposed with all his heart." This new information was announced at the "MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Presentation" held today.
