It has been decided that Ayaka Katayama's ``Bacteria and Iron'' will be made into a TV anime. A teaser visual depicting a "sea of fungi" and an illustration commemorating Katayama's decision to make it into an anime have been released.
The setting of "Bacteria and Iron" is a controlled society where humanity is ruled by fungi. Dante, a soldier who did not lose his sense of self despite his imperfections, decides to overturn the rules of this world after meeting Aether, an organization that resists controlled society with the power of iron, and a girl. It has been serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine (Kodansha) since the April 2021 issue, and up to 8 volumes have been published. Katayama commented, ``As a viewer, I'd like to join in the fun and see how Dante and his friends move and how this slightly (S) mysterious (F) world will be depicted in the anime!''
