``Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugenjou Chapter 1: The Return of Myoza,'' based on the original work by Koyoharu Gotouge, won the Best Animated Feature Award at the 49th Japan Academy Awards.

The award ceremony, which was attended by director Haruo Tonosaki, who worked on the film, was held today, March 13th, at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo. The presenter for the Best Animated Film award was director Kiyotaka Oshiyama, who won the same award last time for ``Look Back.''
Director Tonosaki commented, ``I'm really happy.This award is a credit to all the staff at ufotable and everyone involved.It's also thanks to the customers who visited the theater and the customers who voted.Thank you very much.'' ``Although there are still Chapters 2 and 3, all the staff members will work hard together with Tanjiro to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji,'' he said.
Yuichi Terao, who served as the cinematographer and finishing director, said, ``The credits show that we were able to work with over 900 people, and the studio is a large household with over 300 people.But I don't think it's just a number,'' he said, ``It took a long time. I believe that the passion and determination that we have accumulated over the years as we work together is what makes ufotable what it is. I would be really happy if many people could feel a part of that atmosphere by receiving an award like this and by having many people see our work." ``Thank you very much to everyone who evaluated me,'' he said.
``Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Chapter 1: Return of Aquarium'' will be released in July 2025. This is the first chapter of a trilogy depicting the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and demons, and the second and third chapters are scheduled to be released in the future. In addition to this work, at the 49th Japan Academy Awards, the movie version ``Chainsaw Man Rezehen'', ``Hyakuemu.'', ``Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise'', and ``Detective Conan: One Eyed Flashback'' won the Best Animated Film Award.
