The Super Saiyan 5, 6, and 7 Forms Become Immortalized in Official Dragon Ball Media
The idea of seeing Goku and the Z Fighters achieve Super Saiyan transformations beyond SSJ4 was always a pipe dream for Dragon Ball fans in the early 2000s, but it just got way closer to reality. Dragon Ball’s latest official release just acknowledged the existence of the iconic fan-made Super Saiyan 5, 6, and even 7 forms, immortalizing them as a canonical part of the franchise.
With the addition of Dragon Ball GT’s version of Vegeta in Sparking! Zero, the game's English dub cast saw fit to recreate the moment he mentioned SSJ5 in GT while also turning it up a notch to include both Super Saiyans 6 and 7, too.
Any fan who followed DBZ in the early 2000s remembers hearing rumors of Goku turning Super Saiyan 100 -- a myth made infinitely more believable by all the surprisingly convincing fan art of Goku’s post-SSJ4 transformations online. While early fan artists like TablosAF, Young Jiji, and even Toyble (the early pen name of Dragon Ball Super mangaka Toyotarou) crafted convincing accounts of what Super Saiyan 5 might look like, the first actual mention of Super Saiyan 5 in official Dragon Ball media came from Vegeta’s own mouth.
Seeing Super Saiyan 5 in Dragon Ball Super Is Far More Likely Than Most Fans Think
Even if they never actually show up as real transformations, it’s now undeniable that the iconic fan-made Super Saiyan 5, 6, and 7 transformations have been referenced in official Dragon Ball media, and by none other than Vegeta, no less.
Technically, since Dragon Ball DAIMA occurs earlier in the series' timeline than Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta has already long since surpassed DAIMA’s Super Saiyan 4 Goku with his Ultra Ego transformation. Perhaps eyeing Super Saiyan 6 or 7 isn't such a ridiculous dream for the Saiyan Prince after all.
