Storyline and Characters
Draw this and die is currently being serialized in Shogakukan's Gessan, which has won numerous awards including the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award, and has received high praise on social media. The long-awaited TV anime version of the manga romantic growth story for everyone who loves manga. This work, brought to you by director Hiroaki Akagi and Shinei Animation, began with the announcement of the voice actors, including Akira Sekine, who will play the role of Yasumi, and Saori Hayami, who will play the role of Rei Tejima.
The main character, Ankai Sou, who lives on Izuojima, an island in Tokyo, is a first-year high school student who loves reading manga. A certain incident made him start thinking about creating manga... What path will Ai take to create manga? A “manga x high school girl youth story” packed with all the pain and joy of creating a work, and full of manga love, which we want to deliver to everyone who loves manga.
Supporting Illustrations and Comments
Supporting illustrations and comments have been received for this work, which has been decided to be made into an anime. It was released as a countdown on Anime Official X from June 24th, and many of the extremely valuable illustrations became a hot topic. Illustrations by well-known manga artists such as Soichiro Yamamoto, Daijiro Morohoshi, Ryoji Minagawa, Kazuhiro Fujita, Hiroyuki Nishimori, Rumiko Takahashi, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, and Mitsuru Adachi were released, and today, the final day of the countdown, the countdown concluded with an illustration by Gosho Aoyama.

The TV anime ``Draw This and Die'' will begin broadcasting on 30 stations nationwide from 11:30 pm on Fridays, starting Friday, July 3, 2026, on Hon TV's Fura-Ani.
