Volume 1 of Umami Zaurus ``Girl Macbeth'', originally written by Ten Furuda, was released today, April 9th.
Sayaka Yuki, a girl who aspires to become a playwright, enrolls in Japan's premier high school for girls specializing in drama, Hyakka Drama School. In the same grade was Ryo Shitara, a genius who also aspires to be a playwright and is worshiped as a "god" by those around him. However, Ryo suddenly falls off the stage during a performance of a play he is working on and dies. It was dismissed as an unfortunate accident, but Takami Fujishiro, a new student who entered the school the following spring, declared in front of the entire school, ``I have come to investigate the truth behind Ryo Shitara's death.'' Sayaka gets involved with Takasui, who says, ``I think it was suicide,'' and ends up investigating the student who had a relationship with Ryo before his death. The work is currently being serialized in Comic DAYS.
