"Gochiusa" Cast Reunites for "Is the Order a Rabbit?" Movie Event at AnimeJapan 2026

The much-awaited stage event for the theatrical version of the anime "Is the Order a Rabbit?", based on Koi's original work titled "~We Are Family!~", took place today on March 28th. Held at the RED STAGE during AnimeJapan 2026, the event was a real treat for the fans. The main cast, including Ayane Sakura (Cocoa), Inori Minase (Chino), Risa Taneda (Rize), Maaya Uchida (Sharo), Aozora Tokui (Maya), and Rie Murakawa (Megu), all gathered on stage. The session was anchored by Sho Hayami, who voices Takahiro, and he did a great job as the MC.

A Journey Through Twelve Years of Cuteness

For those who don't know, everything you need to know about Is the Order a Rabbit? starts with the daily life at the Rabbit House cafe. It is a heartwarming story where Cocoa stays while attending school. The original manga has been running for 15 years now, and the TV anime, which first aired in 2014, is entering its 12th year. With three seasons and two OVAs already out, the excitement for the new feature-length film, "Is the Order a Rabbit? ~We Are Family!~", is at an all-time high.

The event started with a classic call and response. When the speakers shouted "Kokoro," the entire audience yelled back "Pyon Pyon" with full energy. Even though Satomi Sato (Chiya) couldn't attend, she sent a lovely message that Hayami read out. She mentioned how she can’t wait to show everyone the "cuteness that fills your stomach and heart," which got a huge round of applause. The cast also talked about the "Rabbit House Talk Party 2025" event. Sakura shared an interesting story about director Hiroyuki Hashimoto's trip to France—the real-life inspiration for the town—and how seeing the fans there made the world of the anime feel like a reality.

The "Super Bitter Quiz" Challenge

One of the funniest parts was the "Rabbit House Super Bitter Quiz!" game. The cast had to answer really tough questions about past episodes to prove their love for the series. Some of the questions included:

  • What Cocoa said she wanted to become in the 4th episode of Season 1.
  • The specific name of Rize’s special serve from the very first episode.
  • Exactly how much money Sharo claimed to have when she woke up from a dream in episode 10.

Even though the questions were quite tricky, the cast managed to get 4 out of 5 correct with some help from the fans in the crowd. It was a clear sign that their bond with GochiUsa is still very strong after all these years.

Messages from the Directors and a Bright Future

Towards the end, letters from general director Hashimoto and director Tensho were shared. Sakura and Minase read them out to the audience. Hashimoto hinted that the movie’s subtitle has a deep meaning and also revealed that the cast size will actually increase for the film! Director Tensho promised to make "the cutest movie in the world," which honestly made the whole venue erupt in cheers. Finding everything you need to know about Is the Order a Rabbit? is definitely worth it if you want to understand the hype behind this film. The stage ended with everyone chanting "We Are!" and "Family!!" together, confirming that the fans and the cast are truly one big family.
