A special feature commemorating Junji Ito's 40th anniversary as a painter has been included in the May issue of Da Vinci (KADOKAWA), released today, April 6th.
In the special feature, Ito talks with painter Yuko Higuchi. A long interview with Ito and congratulatory illustrations from Gege Akutami, Tsuchika Nishimura, and Tatsuki Fujimoto were also published. The cover is also decorated with Ito's original illustration ``Tomie and the cat.''
In the "Comic Da Vinci" slot, we picked up the anime "Awashima Hyakkei." The work is introduced along with interviews with the anime's director, Morio Asaka, and the original author, Takako Shimura. Additionally, in conjunction with the release of ``Supermarket Universe'', which was serialized in Da Vinci for seven years, as a book on April 21st, an interview with Miri Masuda was also conducted.
