Supernatural School BL: Karin Anzai Releases New Volume of "My Lips Are Targeted"
The first volume of Karin Anzai's latest work, "My lips are being targeted - Pororo Gakuen no Blue Line," has officially hit the stands today, March 19th. Fans of the author are quite excited because she is already well-known for her hit series, "You can't fall in love with someone just by looking at them." This new project is a school fantasy BL that really brings out Anzai's unique storytelling style and artistic flair.
A Unique Setting: The World of "Blue Line"
The story of My Lips Are Targeted takes place in a world where a rare supernatural ability called "Blue Line" occasionally appears in boys. Our protagonist, Kii Sugisaki, is a high school student who has just entered National Pororo Gakuen, which is a special school meant only for gifted individuals. Kii possesses a very peculiar power—he can actually enhance the abilities of anyone he kisses. It is quite an interesting twist for a supernatural school setting, no?
Things get intense very quickly for Kii. Right after joining the school, he finds himself in a tight spot during training. To overcome the predicament, he ends up kissing Fuyujou, a fire user who is his assigned partner. This one act changes everything for him, as he is then forced to hear the words, "You are my soulmate." The series is currently being serialized in Hakusensha's electronic BL magazine, Trifle by Hana to Yume, and it is quickly becoming clear why My Lips Are Targeted is the must-read romance manga of the year for many fans.
