The 3rd Domanka Anime Film Festival will be held at Midland Square Cinema in Aichi from May 15th to 21st.
The Doman Naka Anime Film Festival is an event that creates a place for anime fans and people involved in anime production to interact, focusing on screening anime movies released in the 1980s. The first one was held in May 2024, and the second one in May 2025.
In the third edition, in addition to works from the 1980s, we expanded the scope to include works released in the 2000s, selecting works to be screened from a framework of approximately 30 years. “Legendary Giant Ideon Contact Arc/Activation Arc” directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino (Yoshiyuki Tomino), “Arion” directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, “Tenshi no Tamago 4K Remaster” directed by Mamoru Oshii, “Crayon Shin-chan the Movie” directed by Keiichi Hara Appare that calls the storm! Sengoku Taisen!'', Rintaro's ``Metropolis'', Isao Takahata's ``Grave of the Fireflies'', and Yoshiyuki Tomino's ``Mobile Suit Gundam F91 Complete Edition'' will be screened. The original illustration for the official poster was drawn by Hirotoshi Sano, an animator who worked on ``Venus Senki.''
We also held a special event called ``80's Anime Talk Session Ep.1.'' The guests will be Ryusuke Hikawa, Michihiko Suwa, Masuro Ueda, Hirotoshi Sano, and Run Sasaki, and Makoto Ishii will serve as the host. Further details about the film festival will be announced at a later date.
