"Minky Momo" OVA's Theatrical Release in 2026

The new OVA "Magical Princess Minky Momo: To the Dream of Longing - Heartfelt Duet (Duo)" is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2026. At the same time, a teaser visual, "super special video", and staff comments have arrived.

"Magical Princess Minky Momo: Toward the Dream of Longing - Heartfelt Duo" is a special theatrical screening of a completely new OVA produced to commemorate Ashi Productions' 50th anniversary. The director is Ayumu Watanabe, the character designs are by Hiroshi Watanabe and Mari Minaga, who have been involved in previous series, and the screenplay is by Deko Akao.

The stage is Diginasa, a land of dreams and hope that maintains its existence through dream energy. However, as humans no longer had dreams and hopes, their dream energy decreased, and the country was in danger of disappearing. So, as a last hope, the king sends his three companions, Chamocha, Dettabook, and Pipilupi, to ask Minky Momo for help. Momo got a smartphone on her 12th birthday, and upon meeting her attendants, she awakens as Minky Momo and decides to save Diginasa. While he was steadily collecting dream energy, a mysterious app began to become popular. The children's dreams that are talked about there are all ``frivolous dreams'' for the sake of approval or to earn numbers. Momo, also known as Minky Momo, begins to have doubts about everyone's dreams.

The teaser visual of Momo riding a crescent moon is an homage to the familiar design from the previous series. The special video begins with a look back at the history of Minky Momo. Classical music was used, inspired by the title ``Duet of the heart''.
