The Inspiration Behind the Series
"Kung Fu Kung Fu" is a non-stop action comedy that depicts the adventures of Goemon, a popular thief, and Bao, a boy with "treasure". The author, masterlynx, is a writer living in India and a winner of the KADOKAWA International Manga Award ``Wordless Manga Contest''. Based on the text written by masterlynx in English, KADOKAWA's overseas manga editorial department adjusted the dialogue and onomatopoeic expressions to Japanese to proceed with the production of the work.
A Dream Come True for the Author
The author, masterlynx, expressed his excitement at having a manga serialized in Japan, saying, ``We, who grew up with Dragon Ball, are now stepping into the manga industry built by the legendary Akira Toriyama...This journey feels like a dream to us, and we can't even begin to feel it.'' The editor in charge of the work commented, ``'He's an incredible talent.' That's my first impression.Japanese manga culture has reached the far reaches of India and produced a genius.Now, that talent is about to bloom in Japan.As a manga lover, I'm deeply moved by this.I hope that as many manga fans as possible will get to know him.''
The series began by communicating online and overcoming different national and linguistic environments, a true testament to the power of manga to transcend borders and cultures.
