'An Old Man from the Countryside Becomes a Swordsman' is a swordsman warrior fantasy based on the novel by Shigeru Sagazaki. The comic version by Ando Hiroshi and two spin-off works have a total of over 9 million copies in circulation. The first season of the TV anime was broadcast and distributed in 2025 and ranked in the top 10 on Prime Video in over 45 countries and regions.
The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
The first season is also being distributed from today on each distribution site. On July 8th, the second season, 'Rural Old Man Becomes a Kensei II', is scheduled to be broadcast and distributed.
