The top 10 rankings of manga to be made into anime 2026, developed by the anime event "AnimeJapan," were announced today, March 4th, and mmk's "The Guy in the Seat Next Door Looks at Me That Way" took first place.

``The guy sitting next to me looks at me that way'' is a pure love comedy about Ikezawa-kun and Eguchi-san who look at each other ``that way.'' mmk commented, ``We will continue to do our best with the support we have received!!'' Takuto Miyagawa, the editor in charge, said, ``In order to live up to everyone's expectations for an anime adaptation, we will do our best to deliver the love story between Ikezawa-kun and Eguchi-san that will make you laugh, cry, and get excited.''

Second place goes to Kyu Sumiyoshi's ``Thank You Pitch'', 3rd place goes to Naotaka Takade's ``Ketsu Butler'', 4th place goes to Konoshi Maruka's ``Sharanaiin desu'', and 5th place goes to Inoue's ``#Gal to Gal no Yuri''. Shinnosuke Kanazawa's ``Company and Private Life -On and Off-'' was ranked 6th, Makoto Yoshimoto's 7th place was ``Usotsuki! Gokuo-kun'', 8th place was ``Dino Sun'' by Itaru Kinoshita, 9th place was Yuto Sano's ``Gokurakugai'', and 10th place was Toru Anmori's ``Centuria''.

The ``Ranking of Manga I Want to Be Made into Anime'' is a project in which the public votes to select manga that they would like to see made into anime or that they would like many people to see from among manga books that have been sold so far or works that are currently being serialized. This time, 48 works were nominated, and the total number of votes was 222,758. At the award ceremony, Hikaru Morita, Rina Matsuda, Mio Matono, Aiki Taniguchi, and Yuzuki Nakajima of Sakurazaka46, who are the ambassadors of "AnimeJapan 2026", will be on stage as presenters, just like last year. Matsuda said, ``Even during this time alone, I could really feel the long effort and love that everyone has put into a piece of work,'' and expressed his respect for the creation by saying, ``I would like to express my sincere respect to everyone who was involved in the work.'' The award ceremony will be available for a limited time on AnimeJapan's official YouTube channel until 23:59 on March 31st.
