The story depicts the bond between Yoshitsugu Otani and Mitsunari Ishida, military commanders who served Toyotomi Hideyoshi and lived through the turbulent times of the Sengoku period. The year is 1573, and while Oda Nobunaga is on his way to unify the country, Mitsunari, who lives in Omi Province, is attacked by bandits and is saved by Yoshitsugu. Yoshitsugu, who was seriously injured at that time, confesses to Mitsunari that he belongs to a demon clan that seeks blood. As a thank you for his help, Mitsunari gives his blood to Yoshitsugu...
