New Manga Release: Role Playing a Villain in a Different World

There is some really exciting news for the fans of isekai and villainous protagonists. RAYMON's latest work, titled "Role Playing a Villain in a Different World - Isn't it okay to like villains more than heroes?" Volume 1, has officially hit the shelves today, March 6th. This new series is being published by Kill Time Communication under their Valkyrie Comics imprint. For those who didn't know, this is actually the comic adaptation of Mun's popular novel, and it’s finally here for us to enjoy in a visual format.

A Twist on the Usual Reincarnation Story

The story follows a main character who is just your ordinary, hard-working office worker in real life. But when he is inside the game world, he is a totally different person—a reckless player killer who absolutely loves role playing a villain in a different world. He finds a lot of joy in being far removed from his boring reality. Things take a massive turn when he suddenly wakes up and finds out he has been reincarnated into an actual fantasy world. He is given the name Crow and starts his new life right from being a baby.

Initially, Crow is very much filled with anticipation. He keeps wondering what kind of grand fate is waiting for him in this new life. However, the reality of living in a remote village is quite harsh. As he grows, his daily life is mostly filled with a very hopeless mood because things aren't as exciting as he thought they would be. But everything changes when Crow has a fateful encounter with a young demon named Sphere. This meeting is a huge turning point because Sphere imbues him with a mysterious and inhuman power that sets him on a very dark path.

Exclusive First Episode Preview

If you are curious about the art and the vibe of the story, Comic Natalie is doing something very cool. They are releasing the entire first episode of "Role Playing a Villain in a Different World - Isn't it okay to like villains more than heroes?" for a limited time. You should definitely take this chance to try reading it and see if it hooks you. It’s a great way to see why role playing a villain in a different world is a must read for those who are tired of the typical hero tropes.

Key Features of the Series

  • Unique Perspective: Instead of a hero saving the world, we get a protagonist who actually prefers the dark side.
  • Intriguing Characters: The dynamic between Crow and the demon Sphere promises a lot of mystery.
  • Harsh World-Building: The story doesn't shy away from the struggles of living in a remote, poor village.
  • Action-Packed: With the main character being a former PK (Player Killer), expect some intense moments.

Overall, RAYMON has done a great job with the character designs and the atmosphere. Spending time in a different world playing the role of a villain might just be the change we need in the isekai genre. Don't forget to check out the Volume 1 release and let us know what you think about Crow's journey!
