Ryu to Amagami Inspired Menu at Niigata Festival
Kakumaru Shibaro's "Ryuto Amagami" collaborates with the event "Furumachi/Sado Minato Tanabata Festival BEER GARDEN in Furumachi 7" held in Niigata. At the Italia-ken booth, a special menu that recreates Niigata's local cuisine that appears in "Ryu to Amagami" will be offered. The period is from July 3rd to 5th.

The Story Behind Ryu to Amagami
"Ryu to Amagami" is set in Niigata City in 1888, and depicts the interaction between Will, an English girl, and Rusaku, a blunt young chef. At first, Will says, "I hate Niigata!" but through the local cuisine and food culture of Niigata, he gradually learns about the town and its people. The latest two volumes of the book are scheduled to be released on July 28th.
Italia-ken's Role in the Festival
Italia-ken is a long-established hotel that also appears in the movie "Ryu to Amagami." It is said to be the first restaurant in Japan to offer meat sauce, and the recreated menu will include "Vinegar Roasted Sardines", "Ginger Miso Kensan Yaki", "Fried Braised Kuruma Fu", as well as other meat sauces.
