Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Reaches Its Grand Finale in Weekly Shonen Jump

The latest news coming from the manga world is that Yuji Iwasaki's popular spin-off, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, has finally reached its last episode. This series, which is based on the legendary original work by Gege Akutami, concluded its run in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 15 by Shueisha, which was released today on March 9th. It has been a short but very intense journey for the fans who were looking for more from this universe. Many readers feel that jujutsu kaisen explained: why the anime and manga are global phenomena really shows why even these spin-offs get so much love from the community.

A Near-Future Spin-off Set Decades Later

For those who might have missed the starting, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a near-future story that takes place exactly 68 years after the chaotic Death Return events seen in Akutami's main Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The plot is quite unique and starts when a strange extraterrestrial creature, calling itself the Simurian, suddenly shows up on Earth. This leads to the main characters, siblings Makoto Otsuko and Yuuka, getting involved in a high-stakes diplomatic mission. It is quite interesting to see how the world has changed in this timeline.

The serialization of this project was always meant to be a short-term thing. It first started in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 41 back on September 8, 2025. Even though the run was brief, it managed to pack in a lot of action and lore. The second volume of the compiled book was just released recently on March 4, and the publishers have confirmed that the final three volumes will hit the stands on May 1st. Fans are definitely waiting to complete their collection of this mini-series.

Special Celebrations and Commemorative Merchandise

To give the series a proper send-off, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo appeared in the center color of this week's issue. The magazine is also running a special campaign to celebrate the conclusion. All the applicants who participate will get a chance to receive some really cool items:

  • Acrylic Objects: A set of two objects using special illustrations from the series.
  • Photo Frame-style Acrylic Art: This uses the beautiful color pages from the very final episode.
  • Subscriber Exclusive: Please note that the photo frame style art is strictly for those who have the Weekly Shonen Jump electronic version subscription.

There is a cost involved for these collectibles, though. The set of two acrylic objects will cost around 8,800 yen including tax, while the photo frame style art is priced at 5,800 yen. It is a bit of an investment, but for die-hard fans, it is a great way to remember the series. Looking back, jujutsu kaisen explained: why the anime and manga are global phenomena perfectly captures the kind of madness and loyalty this franchise inspires in people. We really hope to see more such creative collaborations between Gege Akutami and talented artists like Yuji Iwasaki in the future.
