Let's Go Kaikigumi TV Anime: New Cast, Trailer, and July Broadcast Details

The upcoming television anime adaptation of the popular manga Let's Go Kaiki-gumi by View has officially locked in its premiere date. Fans can mark their calendars for July 5th, as the series will start broadcasting across 28 TBS stations nationwide. The show is scheduled to air every Sunday at 4:30 pm, making it a perfect weekend watch for those who enjoy a bit of supernatural comedy. Along with the launch date, the production team has also treated us with a fresh key visual, the first preview trailer, and a list of new cast and staff members.

If you haven't heard of it yet, Let's Go Kaiki-gumi is actually a very bizarre gag drama. The story follows a main character who is basically a massive coward. His life takes a wild turn when he meets Mechako, the leader of the Kaiki-gumi. This organization is quite unique because they are responsible for controlling various ghosts and monsters that trouble humans. This strange premise is one of the many reasons why Let's Go Kaikigumi is a must watch for fans of the genre.

Cast and Staff Expansion Revealed at AnimeJapan 2026

The latest updates were shared during the AnimeJapan 2026 event held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 29th. The main cast is already looking solid, with Tasuku Hatanaka voicing our scared protagonist and Ruriko Aoki taking on the role of Mechako. The legendary Shigeru Chiba will be providing the narration, which is definitely going to add a lot of personality to the show. Some interesting new cast members have also been announced:

  • Mayumi Shintani as the Cursed Doll, which was a possession of the group's previous boss.
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Shurako, who is Mechako’s cousin.
  • Yuki Sakakibara as the Doppelgänger, a creature that can mimic any person.

On the technical side, the staff list is equally impressive. Kohei Yoshida, known for his work on Lycoris Recoil and Odd Taxi, is the sound director. The musical score is being handled by Akihiro Tateyama, who previously worked on Yuru Camp△ and Kemono Friends. In the first preview, you can already catch a glimpse of the character voices and hear some of Tateyama’s music in the background.

Theme Song and Special Events

It was previously mentioned that Amena would be involved as a "song collaborator," but it is now confirmed that she will be performing the ending theme song. While the title hasn't been revealed yet, it is something to look forward to. For those lucky enough to be in Japan, an advance screening will happen at Science Hall in Tokyo on June 20th. Most of the main cast members will be making an appearance there. You can try your luck with the ticket lottery at E+ starting from today until April 19th.

Also, an official radio program will be launching on the Onsen internet radio station starting in June. Ruriko Aoki and Yoshino Aoyama will be the hosts, so that should be fun to listen to. Understanding the dynamic between these characters is part of why Let's Go Kaikigumi is a must watch anime this season.
