Tomokazu Omatsu's ``Baki Gaiden Shin Chiharu'', designed and supervised by Keisuke Itagaki, started in the August issue of Monthly Champion RED (Akita Shoten), released today, June 19th.
The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
"Baki Gaiden Shin Chiharu" is a work that depicts Chiharu Shiba, who appears in the "Baki" series, as the main character. The story begins when Erabu, a freelance writer who wants to write a book about Chiharu's legend, interviews Kaoru Hanayama, who has a relationship with Chiharu.
Upcoming Releases
In the same issue, it was also announced that a new one-shot of Katsuhisa Kikizu's ``Detective Marnie'' will be published in the September issue, which will be released on July 21st. The September issue will include a clear file with an illustration drawn by Kikizu for the cover of the issue.
