Bandai Announces the Long‑Lost Superbia GN‑X Returns to the MG Line
After years of obscurity, the Superbia GN‑X from the niche Mobile Suit Gundam 00V finally reappears as a 1/100 scale Master Grade kit. Bandai Hobby has taken the original GN‑XIII chassis and rebuilt it with brand‑new parts, delivering a model that feels both fresh and faithful to its source.
Transformable Ninja‑Style Weaponry
The centerpiece is the trio of GN Kunai mounted on the forearms. With a simple slide, the blades retract to become GN Vulcans for ranged fire. Flip them forward and they morph into GN Swords, perfect for close‑quarters battles. Adding the supplied beam‑effect pieces converts the same limbs into glowing GN Beam Needles, highlighted by translucent purple plastic that catches the light.
Display Options for the Serious Collector
Beyond its combat versatility, the kit includes a clear plastic stand equipped with a steel girder. By inserting the girder into the model’s feet and flipping the unit upside‑down, collectors can showcase the Superbia in a stealthy, aerodynamic pose that emphasizes its sleek ninja aesthetic.
The set ships for about ¥6,050 (≈US$40) and will be available for pre‑order soon. Expect the usual MG detail level: intricate panel lines, articulated joints, and a sturdy internal frame that holds up even in the most dynamic display configurations.

The Superbia GN‑X originally debuted in Mobile Suit Gundam 00V, a side‑story created by writer Tomohiro Chiba. Presented as an in‑universe development dossier in Hobby Japan, the series later shifted to a short‑story format focusing on historian Robert Spacey. Because the publication was limited and primarily Japanese, the unit remained a collector’s rarity for decades.
Following the original, Hobby Japan released Mobile Suit Gundam 00V: Battlefield Record, a photo‑novel that paired short narratives with detailed suit illustrations. That companion piece further cemented the Superbia’s mythic status among hardcore fans, making its modern MG incarnation a must‑have for anyone serious about Gundam Gunpla.
