Super Psychic Policeman Chojo Anime Confirms October Premiere
Fans of Shonen Jump have some really great news to start their day with. The much-awaited TV anime adaptation of Shun Numa's popular manga, Super Psychic Policeman Chojo, is officially set to hit the small screens. According to the latest updates, the series will begin its broadcast this October. It has been confirmed that the show will air on Fuji TV's brand-new anime programming slot, which is being called Tu Animbaru!!. This is quite a big move for the franchise, as it looks like the studio is putting a lot of weight behind this supernatural buddy cop comedy.
Along with the premiere month announcement, the makers have also treated us with some fresh visuals. We finally have a proper look at the character design images for our main protagonist, Meguru Chojo, and his very energetic partner, Nao Ippongi. The designs look very clean and they perfectly capture the quirky vibe that the original manga is known for. You can check out the newly released images below to see how they’ve transitioned from the manga pages to the animation style.

Plot and Setting: What is Chojo Senpai All About?
If you haven't read the manga yet, Choujo! Chojo Senpai is basically a "superpower police comedy" that is set in the bustling district of Chinjuk Kabukicho. The story takes place around a rather unusual inn located right in the heart of the red-light district. It follows the hilarious and often chaotic interactions between Chojou Messuru, who is a police sergeant blessed with incredible supernatural powers, and Nao Ippongi. Nao is a rookie officer who is widely known by her nickname, Gorilla, thanks to her massive physical strength.
The dynamic between these two is the soul of the series. While Chojo uses his psychic abilities for almost everything except actual police work, Nao tries her level best to keep things professional, though she often ends up losing her temper. It’s a classic buddy-cop setup but with a very weird and funny supernatural twist that makes Choujo! Chojo Senpai stand out from other seasonal comedies.
Production Staff and Studio Details
The anime seems to be in very capable hands. The series is being directed by Junichi Yamamoto, who is known for his work on several recent hits. Handling the series composition and the screenplay is Hayashi Mori, while the animation production is being looked after by Arvo Animation. This studio has a reputation for delivering solid animation quality, so fans are naturally quite hyped to see how the action and comedy scenes are going to look in motion.
