Cloudy Beach Saga: A Deadly Feast in Theatres
Fans of the intense survival genre have something big to look forward to this July. The latest theatrical work of the popular TV anime, Game of Death. 44: CLOUDY BEACH, is officially hitting the big screen. It has been confirmed that the movie will be released in theatres for a very limited time of just two weeks, starting from July 10th. Along with this announcement, some fresh "Game visuals" and special news footage have finally arrived to give us a glimpse of what's coming.
For those who might be a bit behind, the TV anime Eating in the Game of Death has been broadcasting since January of this year. It tells a rather chilling and unique story about girls who are trapped in a literal murder game. The rules are simple but brutal: if you return alive, you get a prize, but if you fail, you lose your life. It is because of these high survival stakes that the series has gained such a dedicated following so quickly.
Yuki’s Journey to Cloudy Beach
The upcoming 44: CLOUDY BEACH segment specifically focuses on our protagonist, Yuki. She is a player who has already managed to overcome the dreaded jinx known as the "Thirty Walls"—a point in the game where the survival rate of players normally drops like a stone. This time, she is taking on a new challenge in a setting called Cloudy Beach, which is located on a remote, lonely island in the middle of the ocean. The atmosphere seems much more isolated than previous rounds, which only adds to the tension.
Exclusive Pre-orders and Bonus Content
If you are planning to watch this, you might want to look into the pre-orders. Advance tickets with special benefits are currently being accepted at the KADOKAWA booth and through their online store, Kadost. This is happening as part of "AnimeJapan 2026", which is being held today on March 28th and 29th.
The bonuses for early buyers are actually quite cool. Fans can get a set of two framed illustrations featuring ghosts. These have been specially drawn by the character designer Nekotaru and the comic creator Banzaiju Daibankai. It’s definitely a nice collector's item for anyone who loves the series' aesthetic.
