Takahata Isao Director Special Feature 2026, a series of four feature-length works produced by animation director Isao Takahata at Studio Ghibli, will be held at Kyoto's Demachiza from July 31st.
The Films
Omohide Poro Poro will be screened from July 31st to August 6th, Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko from August 7th to 13th, My Neighbor Yamada-kun from August 14th to 20th, and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya from August 21st to 27th.
Behind the Event
The Takahata Isao Director Special Feature 2026 is being held with the desire to share the works of Takahata, who passed away in 2018, with future generations. This is a project that was held in the spring of 2020, but was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
